  • Whirlow, Whitby and the Amphitheatre

    Mon 30 Sep 2019 Kim

The children of Year 1 went on their first every residential and had a fabulous time at Whirlow. They all had lots of fun taking it in turns feeding, grooming and looking after all of the animals. They went on woodland walks, went searching for bugs and insects, picked conkers, rode on horses and saw real pumpkins growing in a field! So many things to learn and do and brilliant friendships and memories were made.

Also this week Y6 went on their residential to Whitby discovering all of the wonders and history of the town and Y4 who have been studying the Greeks visited Sheffield’s very own Amphitheatre to get a feel of what it would be like back in the day.

  • Mam Tor

    Mon 23 Sep 2019 Kim

The children of Y5 went out on a trip to Mam Tor a 1,696 ft hill near Castleton. The name Mam Tor means Mother Hill and is so called because of all the mini hills below it.

The children set off on their adventure in the morning, caught the bus to Castleton and then began their walk. Once they reached the summit they all had a picnic lunch together, before their descent back down to Castleton and on the bus back to School. Well done Y5 you all did amazing, especially as you had to deal with the wet and every changing weather.

  • Welcome back

    Tue 17 Sep 2019

A very warm welcome back to all of our children, families and staff at Wybourn community primary school and nursery.

We would especially like to say a big hello to all of our new starters and FS2 children who have just joined us and began settling in over the last 2 weeks. Thank you to all of our current and returning children who have been helping, supporting and have made the new children feel very welcome.

We’ve had a very busy start to this academic year and children have been going out on visits to the local library, swimming and this week Y1 will be out on a trip to Western park.
