  • Back to School-Monday 8th March

    Fri 26 Feb 2021
I am sure you will have heard in the news that schools have been given the go ahead to re-open fully on Monday 8th March. We are DELIGHTED and are really looking forward to welcoming all of our children back to school. School will be running in a very similar way to how it was organised during the Autumn term (children taught in class bubbles, separate entrances and exits, staggered start/end times etc). We will be in touch next week with reminders of the details and know you will continue to support us by following the rules we put in place to keep everyone as safe as possible.

In the meantime, we hope you are enjoying your Wybourn Lions and they are a little reminder of how much we all care about you and have missed you.

Enjoy the weekend, spring is coming!

    SCHOOL VISION SCREENING MESSAGE

    Dear Parent / Guardian,

Due to the ongoing current situation with Covid 19 and schools being currently open to keyworker and vulnerable families only, unfortunately we are unable to carry out the Vision Test that would normally be carried out in your child’s first Academic Year of school.

We are therefore asking Parents/Guardians of any child currently in Y0/Y1 that have any concerns/queries regarding your child’s eyes/vision to contact the School Vision Screening Service on 0114 3053060 or Email vision.screening@nhs.net . This will ensure that your concerns can be addressed by one of our orthoptists and an appointment arranged if necessary within the hospital. As soon as schools are open, our Vision Screening team will complete the eye test’s in school. Please be reassured that we will commence testing as soon we are able to do so and we will endeavour to complete the full cohort before the end of next academic year 2021/2022.

Most children will be tested at school during the school day.  This will be arranged in advance in conjunction with school.  Parents are not required to be present for the test.

Alternatively if you have any concerns about your child’s eyes please visit your Local High Street Optometrist (Optician) or family Dr (GP) or contact the School Vision Screening Service (as above).  In the case of an emergency please attend Sheffield Children’s Hospital Accident and Emergency Department – this is a 24 hour service.

    Thank You

    The School Vision Screening Team
